Florence + The Machine have posted a new song on the internet.

Florence + The Machine have posted a new song on the internet today and not just a video of frontwoman Florence Welch cycling in a flowery frock as had been widely speculated.

Yesterday, Florence + her Twitter Machine teased, “Hello interworld, I’m out of the studio and into the sunshine! Pop over to my website at 5pm tomorrow for a peek at something very special x”

The unveiled track is a big spooky, haunting amazo-ballad entitled ‘What the Water Gave Me’ and it will appear alongside 11 other tracks on her follow-up to ‘Lungs’ when it is released in November.

The song is reportedly inspired by this painting by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and it visually sums up the song nicely – all ghostly and otherworldly and bit mental. Flo told NME “At lot of the time when I’m writing, things will just appear. I was writing the song and this book on symbolism was lying around, and it had the painting in it. It’s nice to mix the ordinary with extraordinary.”

The track is available now via the currently crashed FlorenceAndTheMachine.net. Until then, you can have a listen to it here.

Bella Vida score a Top 200 hit.

With high-profile performances on ‘Lorraine’ and OK! TV, Bella Vida’s ‘Kiss Kiss Me Bang Bang’ UK promotional tour has landed them an iTunes Dance Chart Top 200 hit this week.

The former Popjustice Song of the Day by Taylor-Ann and Hayley Hasselhoff was launched with Dad in tow at G-A-Y this weekend. ‘Drag Queens! Red swimsuits! The Hoff! Someone call The Daily Mail!’ After the launch 21 year-old Taylor Ann tweeted “WOW,just had the absolute time of my life performing at G.A.Y!:)tonight will be remembered forever, kiss kiss is now officially out on itunes”.

While the memory of the night will certainly live on forever, sadly, not many people remembered to download the track as the Wideboys remix mananged to reach just No. 178. The Hoffspring have now ended their stay in the UK and will return back to L.A. later today.

DJ Avicii releases video for ‘Fade into Darkness’

Baby-faced Swedish DJ Avicii has unveiled the video for ‘Fade into Darkness’ (his original version of Leona Lewis’ ‘Collide’, keep up, keep up) despite having reached an out-of-court settlement with Syco last week.

Just last Monday, Syco announced a ‘collaboration’ of sorts in a statement, ‘Leona Lewis and Avicii will work together on the forthcoming single Collide.’ And by ‘working together’ here, they mean ‘not sue each other’. Avicii, even tweeted “Glad to FINALLY have resolved situation with Leona. So happy to move on with Leona and focus on having a hit together.”

However, DJ Avicii, if that is his real name (it’s not, it’s Tim Berling), seems keen on having a hit all on his own too. The official video for ‘Fade into Darkness’ premiered online last night featuring vocals by Danish hitmaker Andreas Moe (yes, THE Andreas Moe).

You can watch the video for ‘Fade into Darkness’ here.
You can’t watch the video for ‘Collide’ because Leona Lewis hasn’t made one yet.

N-Dubz haven’t had a row on a bus.

Carp enthusiast and N-Dubz frontman Dappy has shown his anger at rumours of a fall out on the N-Dubz tour this weekend.

The Sun had reported that ‘the Dubz’ had a bit of a row on a bus while en route to perform at Burnley’s prestigious Towneley Park. The paper claimed the ruckus broke out over revelations that Tulisa told her bandmates she was to use an X-Factor live performance, planned for the band, to launch her solo material instead.

However, an unhappy Dappy tweeted in response “No fucking doubt,me tulisa and faze where just fine on the tour bus…I love tulisa and I’m so proud of her and Fazer…And we NEVER got dropped [from Def Jam],we left them…A bunch of lies once again in the paper today…(sic)”

A source (possibly a na na naaaiiightbus conductor) had told The Sun, “It all got completely out of hand on the bus on Friday night. Instead of N-Dubz performing on the show, Tulisa is planning to use a key slot on the show to promote her solo career”.

Dappy continued “Fuck X factor and every thing they stand for, no real original music or artist will ever come off that fake show exept Leona Lewis..NaNa (sic)”. Bit harsh on The Conway Sisters to be fair.

Britney’s VMA tribute may have been revealed.

Britney Spears will allegedly be honoured by a menagerie or ‘Minaj-erie’ if you will (we won’t – Ed) of her popstar contemporaries at this year’s MTV VMAs.

VMA Executive Producer Amy Doyle told Billboard “Obviously everything from her choreography to her fashion to her videos will be (covered). We said ‘let’s challenge ourselves to do something unique’.” The 29-year old ‘I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman’ singer is rumoured to be the recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

The format of the promised tribute to Brit may have been revealed by America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway producer ‘Woody Woodbeck’ who tweeted at the weekend “If this lineup is legit (which I’m told it is) the tribute to Britney at the VMAs is gonna be insanely EPIC!!”

The tweet included a link to this image:

If this lineup is indeed ‘legit’ then it most certainly will be ‘epic’. Besides, let’s face it, it’s on headed paper so it must be true.

The MTV VMAs take place in Los Angeles’s Nokia Theatre on August 28th.

Ten nipples. One Direction.

Good news for perverts. Not to be outdone by the latest videos from their boyband contemporaries The Wanted and JLS, One Direction will also be appearing ‘sans nautical-themed Topman t-shirts’ in the forthcoming video for debut ‘What Makes You Beautiful’.

However, in a unique take on the topless boyband music video tradition, the boys will break new ground by ‘larking about on a beach’.

Speaking to 4Music, Louis One Direction said “I can reveal there is one little scene where we dabble in a bit of topless behaviour”, before Harry explained “We’re in the sea. It’s not cheesy. We’re just in the sea”.

So on a bare-chested boyband gauge that’s more ‘Summertime of Our Lives’ territory than ‘Do What You Like’ then.

The full interview will be broadcast on 4Music on September 3.
